Special counsel Robert Mueller’s hearing could be delayed

Robert Mueller's testimony before a House panel that had been scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, will likely be delayed by one week until July 24 and will include an additional hour for members of the House Judiciary Committee to question the former special counsel, a source familiar with the matter told Newsweek. "In reality, the new arrangement favors Republicans because all of their members will get to ask questions while some Democrats will still not get any time".

As originally planned, each committee would have had only two hours to question Mueller, while more junior lawmakers on the Judiciary panel would have been shut out, the outlet reported. "Sources said Friday morning the hearings will be pushed back to July 24".

Over the almost two-year investigation, the special counsel charged 34 people, including 26 Russian nationals, and secured guilty pleas from seven, including several high-level Trump campaign and administration officials.

"At this moment we still plan to have our hearing on the 17th and we will let you know if that changes", said Daniel Schwartz, spokesman for House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler.

House Intelligence has 22 members, about equal to the number of Judiciary members who were initially expected to question Mueller. "I am speaking out today because our investigation is complete....we are formally closing the special counsel's office, '" said Mueller at the DOJ.

Democratic aides have told The Daily Beast over the last several months that if all else failed, they would at least be able to get Mueller to testify publicly about the report.

Koscielny refuses to travel on Arsenal's pre-season tour to the USA
And should Arsenal fail to sell him this summer, one option the player could explore is to buy himself out of his deal to make him a free agent.

"We got to get on to running a country", Mr. Trump said.

Democrats want to highlight each of those 10 episodes in their hearing, well aware that most of the public has not read the report.

Neither Democratic nor Republican spokespeople for the committee immediately responded to Newsweek's request for comment.

News of the delay perplexed some Judiciary Committee members, who seemed unsure exactly what had happened or where the negotiations between the committee and Mueller stood. Republicans spent Thursday and Friday slamming Democrats for cutting a deal that did not allow all committee members to question Mueller.

In April, Mueller submitted the findings of his almost two-year investigation to the Justice Department. It made no final recommendation on whether there was obstruction of justice by Trump.
