Spurs pull offer to Marcus Morris, sign former lottery pick

BOSTON MA- APRIL 14 Marcus Morris #13 of the Boston Celtics reacts during Game One of the first round of the 2019 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs against the Indiana Pacers at TD Garden

NY has signed Marcus Morris to a one-year, $15 million contract, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites unidentified league sources. "This is no knock on the Spurs".

Morris will be a fine addition for the Knicks, but it's safe to assume they won't come close to even flirting with a playoff spot next season.

Morris averaged 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds for the C's last season.

The Knicks' salary-cap space was suddenly available because the team and free-agent forward Reggie Bullock are no longer executing a two-year, $21 million deal, and reworked the terms down to a lower financial commitment, league sources said. The Knicks have offered him a one-year deal, worth around $15 million, according to Yahoo Sports.

When you can renege on an agreement with the San Antonio Spurs to become the fourth power forward this month to sign with the New York Knicks, you gotta do it, right?

Police Say Jenelle Evans Lied About David Eason Killing Dog
I knew about this waaaay before it was ever reported. "I'm all about protecting my family, it is my life's mission". He knows how upset it made me", she replied to a user who asked if it was a "hard decision to stay with David ".

After pulling the offer from Morris, the Spurs reportedly signed former Denver Nuggets forward Trey Lyles.

NY then went on to sign Wayne Ellington, Elfrid Payton, Julius Randle, Bobby Portis and Taj Gibson, in addition to Morris. After spending two seasons with the Boston Celtics off the bench, Morris beefs up a formidable frontline that already is showing promise.

It should be noted that the deal is only for one year for Morris.

San Antonio reportedly signed Lyles to a two-year contract.

Overall, he has career averages of 7.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 288 games (41 starts). And with LaMarcus Aldridge's ability to play both the four and the center position, Lyles should have an opportunity to play more minutes for a team that still hopes to be competitive in the Western Conference next season.
