Trippier swaps Tottenham for Atletico in reported €22m transfer

He played for England at the World Cup past year but lost his place in recent squads.

There has been no falling out between the player and club and he has been granted a longer break than many of his England global team-mates who also played in the Nations League last month.

Trippier signed a new five-year deal at Spurs in 2017 but now appears set to leave north London and make the move to the continent.

Kieran Trippier has joined Atletico Madrid on a three-year contract after leaving Tottenham in a deal reportedly worth €22million (£22m).

But the former Manchester City trainee still made 38 appearances across all competitions as Spurs finished fourth and made it all the way to the Champions League final at Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

'The Englishman is a versatile full-back who can also play in midfield and has a fantastic right foot.' .

That's the classic 1989 animated film that Disney is now in the process of turning into its next live-action reimagining. The rest of the cast is rumored to include Awkwafina , Jacob Tremblay , and Melissa McCarthy as the sea witch Ursula.

Arsenal are set to beat Tottenham to the signing of teenage defender William Saliba from Saint-Etienne.

The Atletico boss requested the signing of Trippier because he believes he has what it takes to form part of the new-look back four.

"Janssen, Nkoudou and Rose have been granted additional time off in order to explore prospective opportunities with other clubs", Tottenham said in a statement.

The Spanish club have also secured Joao Felix for £113m from Benfica and Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid, while selling Antoine Griezmann to the champions, Barcelona, for £107.7m.

Spurs could be without Serge Aurier for the start of the Premier League season, as he picked up a hamstring injury while at the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.
