Samsung Galaxy A10s with Infinity-V display, dual-cameras announced: Features, specifications

Samsung

Samsung's known for its prowess in display technologies and now that the Galaxy Note 10 is here, we would expect the Korean giants to take its crown back from OnePlus. Today's reveal of the Galaxy A10s doesn't have almost as much fanfare as the Galaxy Note 10 enjoyed, but given the Note 10's status as a flagship, that isn't really surprisingly. In essence, it is only a slight upgrade over the Galaxy A10 that's now on sale in the country for Rs. 7,990, so it won't be a massive surprise if Samsung prices the phone at similar levels to better compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Realme.

In any case, just like the other devices in the Galaxy A line, the A10s is decidedly a mid-range phone. Samsung Galaxy A10s has a 6.2-inch Infinity V-display with 720 x 1520 resolution.

On the inside, there's an octa-core processor of unspecified make with four cores clocked at 2.0GHz and the other four clocked at 1.5GHz.

Nora Quoirin: More than £100,000 raised for missing teen
Her family said on Monday (Aug 12) that 15-year-old Nora is the eldest child who has been vulnerable since the day she was born. The National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Met Police have joined Irish police in providing support to authorities in Malaysia.

The Galaxy A10s comes with a larger battery and also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, something that was missing on the Galaxy A10. There's also 32GB storage on offer, which is expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture housed inside the water drop notch.

On the camera setup, the Galaxy A10s packs a 13MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 2MP depth sensor at the rear. On the software side of things, the phone runs Samsung's new One UI based on Android 9 Pie. It's worth reading through in its entirety when you have the time, but the key takeaway is that the Galaxy Note 10+'s OLED display has either broken or met 13 different smartphone display performance records. A series phones tend to have pretty wide releases around the world, but we're left waiting on Samsung for more official details.
