YouTube Will Now Block Copyright Trolls From Swiping Creators’ Revenue

YouTube Originals are exclusive to Premium users now.

Your membership also continues to include uninterrupted access to YouTube Music (Android/iOS), where you can listen ad-free, offline, and with the screen off.

With few exceptions, YouTube's original shows have only been available to YouTube Premium subscribers, locking them behind a relatively pricey paywall.

As someone that pays for YouTube Premium and has never tuned into a single YouTube Originals show, I honestly couldn't care less about this shift.

She tweeted, along with a photo of Ariana Grande looking distressed: "my mom took my phone. ill miss u all crying. goodbye". The teen runs an Ariana Grande fan account and couldn't bear to leave her followers in the dark with updates about the pop star.

YouTube Premium subscribers will still enjoy a more comprehensive and seamless viewing experience with no ads, downloadable content, and exclusive bonuses, such as director's cuts and extra scenes. It allows them to search through publicly available YouTube videos to look for those containing their content and apply a claim when a match is found. For series, members will get immediate access to every episode of a new season, while non-members will have to wait for each new episode to be released.

Do you use YouTube Premium?

As for a possible uptick in videos blocked completely due to this policy change, YouTube is encouraging its creators to be more vigilant when it comes to third-party content. Along with curated live streams, YouTube will also stream custom content on various artists performing at the music festival. Instead, they can choose to prevent the other party from monetizing the video or they can block the content. However, any of YouTube's series or films after the set date of September 24 will be available for free to all and sundry to watch without paying a dime.

Only three scripted series remain with YouTube: Cobra Kai, Liza On Demand, and Impulse.
