Netflix's 'The Politician' Teases a Crazy Campaign & Characters in First Trailer

Teens Are 100% Going To Murder Each Other In 1st Look At Ryan Murphy’s New Netflix Show

But if he wants to become the leader of the free world, first he needs to become president of his high school.

The trailer for Ryan Murphy's latest show, The Politician, is out - and from Gwyneth Paltrow's cape to Ben Platt's ruthlessness, there's a lot to talk about. As a resident of a wealthy Santa Barbara, California community, Payton has always had dreams of becoming the President of the United States - his current run is the first of many wishful steps there.

Throughout the trailer, Payton proves that nothing and no one will stop him from winning the election - ruthless opponents, voter fraud, personal scandals and possible homicide be damned. The campaign is thrown off by Infinity's past use of a gay slur, leading Payton to consider darker means. "Do you have any idea what I might be referring to?"

Why Liverpool were right to snub Philippe Coutinho
Philippe Coutinho arrived in Munich this Sunday to pass his medical before signing for Bayern Munich . Bayern will pay a loan fee of 8.5 million euros ($9.44 million) and pay his wages.

The trailer also showcases two of Murphy's regular collaborators: Gwyneth Paltrow as Payton's glam mother and Jessica Lange as the grandmother of Payton's running mate Infinity (Set It Up's Zoey Deutch). According to Variety, both Bette Midler and Judith Light are slated to make guest appearances in The Politician, as well.

The series is created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan and is an early example of the projects to come to the streaming service since it entered a lucrative partnership with Murphy a year ago.

It is the first show by Murphy to launch on Netflix since he signed a multi-million dollar deal with the streaming service. You can park it on Netflix to binge the series in its entirety on September 27, when all episodes will go live.
