Taylor Swift's Lover is America's fastest-selling album since her last record

Taylor Swift and Clara Amfo

Taylor Swift's country ballad, Lover, hit the airwaves just over two weeks ago and peaked at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100.

He added a "huge" thanks to his band, who performed the love song live without any rehearsal that day.

Taylor Swift gave her "Red" era deep cut "Holy Ground" the acoustic treatment for BBC Radio 1 and fans were instantly in love with it.

At his recent concert in Washington, Urban performed an unpolished cover of Swift's hit track, pointing out that he and the band hadn't practiced the song before the show.

Swift previously released the singles "The Archer", "ME!" and "You Need to Calm Down" from Lover, for which she snagged 12 MTV Video Music Award nominations.

I'm waiting for the doctor to call me and tell me what he has but he will be out for a while. "I think he's gone to hospital". The 25-year-old collided with Brighton's Adam Webster in the first half and went down clutching his knee.

Swift's seventh album, Lover was released on August 23, and it's already copping covers from the likes of Aussie-by-association, Keith Urban. "I am screaming. This is so attractive".

The new album has earned 867,000 equivalent album units in the USA last week, according to Nielsen Music, cited Billboard. On Sunday, it officially became her sixth album to rocket to No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

Tay-Tay will be pretty chuffed with herself, as she has now also become the first female artist to have six different albums each sell at least 500,000 copies in a single week.

They even gave fans a once-in-a-lifetime show in 2009 when Swift appeared on stage at an Urban concert dressed as a member of KISS.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the USA based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units.
