Ariana Grande is suing Forever 21 for allegedly plagiarizing her likeness

According to Grande's lawsuit, Forever 21 continuously ran the campaign on their website and social media. She claims it went ahead and hired a Grande lookalike model and used other copyrighted material in a social media campaign.

Grande boasts 163 million followers on Instagram and more than 65 million Twitter followers, and was worth approximately $48 million as of early July, according to Forbes.

Examples of Forever 21's posts depicting singer Ariana Grande that led to a $10-million lawsuit.

In the document, Grande's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli writes, "Forever 21 contacted Ms. Grande's representatives to discuss the possibility of having her endorse the fast fashion Forever 21 brand given that Ms. Grande's fans are squarely within Forever 21's target market".

According to Grande's complaint, the deal "never came to fruition because the amounts that Forever 21 offered to pay for the right to use Ms. Grande's name and likeness were insufficient for an artist of her stature".

Ms Grande is a Grammy Award victor and best-selling singer. The retailer, which has built an empire on making the latest trends available and affordable, has about 800 stores worldwide and more than $3 billion in estimated annual sales.

While the phone will be available in South Korea from September 4, its Australian release date and pricing is not yet confirmed. Whether it has run out of such experiments or has changed its mind, the Galaxy A90 5G is anything but experimental.

The complaint cites 13 instances wherein Forever 21 "falsely suggested" Grande's endorsement of its products through the use of the model.

In the paperwork filed, Ariana claims that the brand, and the Riley Rose cosmetics company, used at least 30 unauthorized, Grande-related pictures and videos in its marketing campaign.

Between Jan. and February 2019, Forever 21 launched a campaign on its website and social media accounts that allegedly capitalized the success of Grande's album, Thank U, Next and allegedly copied scenes from her "7 Rings" music video. In certain videos, the song was also played over the images.

The Instagram posts were deleted by Forever 21 in April 2019.

Forever 21 did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
