US President Donald Trump warns China about delaying trade talks

A fresh wave of tariffs was imposed on a portion of US$300 billion worth of Chinese goods to the USA on Sunday.

On Friday, it submitted to the federal register a notice of modification of action, boosting tariffs President Trump had announced in early August.

The United States began imposing 15% tariffs on $125bn worth of Chinese goods on Sunday, September 1st: the import duties target popular products ranging from cellphones and laptops to toys and clothes.

He urged Trump to postpone the new tariffs that went into effect to give both sides time to reach an agreement. While the Chinese did not disclose details about its legal case at the WTO, officials have stated that tariffs by the U.S had impacted Chinese exports worth approximately $300 billion.

Trump also warned that when he wins, "China's Supply Chain will crumble and businesses, jobs and money will be gone!" under the new tougher conditions of the trade deal his administration would offer.

The administration of President Donald Trump has proposed increasing duties on an additional $250 billion of Chinese goods on October 1, and imposing a 15% levy on a remaining $156 billion of imports not yet hit with tariffs on December 15.

Stocks fell Tuesday morning as Wall Street continues to fret over the ongoing trade war between President Donald Trump's administration and the Chinese government.
