US House Steps Up Trump Impeachment Probe

York mayor Rudy Giuliani greets Republican U.S. presidential nominee Donald Trump at the Trask Coliseum at Universit

The Congressional Progressive Caucus on Tuesday voted to back an impeachment investigation into President Trump, adding to the momentum for an inquiry even as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) opposes one.

Ahead of a House Judiciary Committee vote on details of an impeachment investigation into President Donald Trump, two members made their case to a crowd in Seattle.

It will essentially formalize the early stages of impeachment proceedings after a long period of confusion.

"We urge Chairman Nadler to keep pushing forward, and vote articles of impeachment out of committee by October 1st", Marques said.

House Democrats have broadly ramped up their investigations of Trump as they returned from summer recess on Monday and unveiled a probe into reports that the president pressured Ukraine's government into assisting his re-election campaign.

He laid out new procedures that he said would govern "the committee's investigation to determine whether to recommend articles of impeachment with respect to President Donald J. Trump".

In a statement, Nadler described the procedures as a step that would "help ensure our impeachment hearings are informative to Congress and the public, while providing the President with the ability to respond to evidence presented against him".

Netanyahu vows to annex part of West Bank after Israel election
Israeli settlements are located in around 60 percent of the West Bank, including the vast majority of the Jordan Valley. Netanyahu says Israel must lay out its vision as President Donald Trump prepares to unveil his Mideast peace plan.

"I think you should characterize it [the resolution] for what it is", Pelosi told Fox News. In the letter, released Monday and dated Friday, Schiff said that Flynn had failed to comply with the panel's June subpoena or "cooperate with the committee's efforts to secure your compliance".

For example, there could be hearings covering "startling" new evidence regarding potential violations of the emoluments clause that prohibits self-enrichment, such as a move by Trump to host next year's G-7 summit at his Doral, Fla., resort and Vice President Pence's recent stay at a Trump resort in Ireland, committee aides said.

Public and political support for an impeachment inquiry into President Trump remains limited, especially in the wake of underwhelming testimony from former Special Counsel Robert Mueller III over his almost two-year investigation into Trump-Russia collusion.

Nadler noted in his statement that Trump stands credibly accused of abusing his power in a number of ways that have nothing to do with the Mueller investigation into the president's 2016 campaign.

At least 134 House Democrats support an impeachment inquiry, according to a Reuters head count.

However, Mr. Nadler has been embracing the investigation as formal impeachment proceedings throughout the last few weeks in public interviews and his arguments in federal court.

Democrats want to question the three men about an episode described by Mueller, in which Trump allegedly tried to pressure former Attorney General Jeff Sessions to redirect the Russian Federation probe away from his 2016 presidential campaign. If he can not respect the Constitution, we'll have to deal with that.
