Remedy reveals its post-launch plans for Control

Control The Foundation

Remedy have officially unveiled their post-launch plans for Control, with two brand new paid expansions and a free DLC pack all being on the roadmap, as well as potential Alan Wake cross-over.

Beyond the aforementioned Photo Mode, Remedy is also planning a new game mode in December, which now carries the title of Expedition. Both will offer new story missions, teams, enemies and game mechanics, and will take place in new locations within the Oldest House.

As we previously wrote, the worlds of Control and Remedy's 2010 title Alan Wake are intertwined, the events of Bright Falls investigated by the Federal Bureau of Control.

Control just released last month but Remedy Entertainment has already set their sights on the future. This new offering is an end-game experience where Jesse is tasked with aiding Security Chief Arish explore the mysterious Formation, where you'll face against some of the Old House's greatest challenges.

In addition, Remedy has been working on the new game mode, Expeditions.

AWE, the second expansion, is now even more of a mystery. Thus, by a petition of the Board, Jesse explores what lies in the very core of the Oldest House. Photo Mode is in the pipeline too, so players can get snap happy and show off the eerie quiet or utter destruction present in the Oldest House.

If you haven't read our Control review, then be sure to have a gander at it here. The letters AWE are split horizontally, with art from Control taking up the lower half of text and art from Alan Wake - see that flashlight of his? - in the top half. Jessie will take to new areas of the Oldest House in the follow up to The Foundation.

If you haven't picked up a copy of Control yet, you can now grab it on sale for PS4 and Xbox One. The paid expansions will arrive in 2020, but you can expect free updates until the end of the year.

Control's expansions will be available for standalone purchase on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC as they release, or can be acquired as part of the Season pass.
