Duchess of Sussex Meghan launches work clothing collection to help unemployed women

Meghan Markle Just Revealed the Perfect £20 Work Dress From M&S

Meghan Markle is diving right back into work after finishing her maternity leave.

Meghan Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has made a handful of public appearances since son Archie was born. The new clothing line will benefit her patronage Smart Works - which is a charity that helps women find employment - and during the next two weeks, Markle's design partners will donate one item to Smart Works for every item that customers purchase.

Serena Williams has praised her pal Meghan, Duchess of Sussex for making the effort to support her at her U.S. Open match last week.

The gathering contains a shirt, trousers, blazer, gown and tote bag. The collection was created by designers Jigsaw, her friend Misha Nonoo, and brands John Lewis, and Marks and Spencer.

Meghan wore the blouse and a pair of the pants by Jigsaw to the launch.

The duchess had joined their photoshoot in August, and black and white images have been released of the encounter.

When Meghan announced the project earlier in the year, she said she was drawn to Smart Works because it "re-frames the idea of charity as community, which, for me, is incredibly important: it's a network of women supporting and empowering other women in their professional pursuits".

"When you walk into a Smart Works space, you're met with racks of clothing and an array of bags and shoes". It's also the same vein of work that my husband and I will continue doing, really strong community-based projects. Today, a year later, I am excited to celebrate the launch of another initiative of women supporting women, and communities working together for the greater good.

Markle attended a reception at a John Lewis department store to showcase her capsule collection of workwear and accessories she created with designer and friend Misha Nonoo.

'Meghan's squared shoulders as she makes a speech suggest the kind of solid levels of confidence that she always portrayed, while the hands cupped upward at rib level signal a relaxed form of openness and poise, ' explained Judi. The whole capsule was to be tailored and made for women - different sizes and very inclusive. "I love that thing of 'be yourself, everyone else is taken'".

She added: "For me, this was important that I get involved with, no matter what, because of what we're doing to support the clients". However, you can request a notification for when they are back in stock.

Comedienne Jennifer Saunders, who is a patron of Smart Works, praised the clothes.

Tweeting about the event, Smart Works quoted a client named only as "Kate" who has worn the collection already.

"I've got to get back to the baby, it's feed time".

There are five key pieces in the collection that women need to enter the workplace.
