GM recalling 3.5 million U.S. vehicles due to braking issue

"This remedy will improve brake performance in any situation where brake vacuum drops", he said.

Cars need to go, and they need to stop, which is why General Motors will recall almost 3.5 million trucks and SUVs because of a possible issue with a vacuum pump that could make braking more hard, according to Reuters.

According to GM, as the pump in power-assisted brakes age, they may put out less power than needed, increasing stopping distance and the risk of a crash. GM said it has 113 complaints and is aware of 13 injuries involving the brake system defect.

In late June, GM recalled 310,000 vehicles in Canada for the same issue. GM said the secondary system is, right now, limited at lower speeds.

If you're an owner of one of those cars, take it to the dealer to get the brake control module recalibrated at no cost.

Samsung launches two new Galaxy A series Smartphones A50s and A30s
Unsurprisingly, this is also true for those who opt to go the Safaricom way to get their hands on the new beauties from Samsung . Right now, it only supports the Note 10 series but Samsung says it will add support for more devices in the coming days.

The recall, which covers 2014-2018 model year vehicles, including some Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon vehicles, was triggered because the amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time, GM told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in documents posted Wednesday.

The recall comes after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began investigating in November of previous year. Owners were to be notified starting September 6.

The agency has been investigating the problem for 10 months.

GM also is recalling over 177,000 Chevrolet Malibu sedans from the 2018 model year in the US because the fuel injectors can fail. He said GM would have done the recall even without the NHTSA investigation.
