Help floods in for homeless LA subway opera singer

Emily Zamourka 52 is a classically trained violinist who immigrated from Russia 28 years ago when medical bills forced her onto the street Source ABC7

She said she liked to sing in the subway because it feels like being on stage.

The video, which has racked up almost 300,000 views since it was posted late Thursday, shows the blond woman in pigtails singing a handsome rendition of a Puccini aria as she stands on a metro platform with a cart and several bags.

Zamourka has reportedly been offered a recording deal by music producer Joel Diamond since the video went viral.

In a video shared on Twitter by the Los Angeles Police Department, Frazier can be seen sweetly waving at Zamourka as they walk toward each other. The record would be titled "Paradise", and would be released on Diamond's label, Silver Blue Records.

It is not immediately clear if Zamourka has accepted the offer. She also has a singing gig this upcoming weekend in San Pedro.

A Los Angles Police Department (LAPD) officer noticed her singing and shot a video which the LAPD shared on its Twitter account.

News Mario Kart Tour boasts 90 million downloads in 1st week
Nintendo's third most successful launch, Super Mario Run , achieved just under 13 million downloads during its launch week. Nintendo's Mario Kart Tour has achieved 90 million downloads in its first week, according to new data from SensorTower.

Emily Zamourka just isn't a experienced singer, but her soaring voice fills a Metro subway station to the delight of Los Angeles commuters. "4 million stories. 4 million voices.sometimes you just have to stop and listen to one, to hear something lovely", the post said.

Yet lady luck has smiled upon her once more as a result of her video that got nearly a million views in one week. "I don't know why she's been homeless all these years, but she's a human being.that's all that matters", she wrote.

She calls the outpouring of support "a miracle". After a long recovery, she turned to street performing to help pay the bills.

"It was my income", Zamourka told KNBC-TV. She had been teaching violin and piano lessons for most of her life, but fell ill and wound up homeless when she couldn't afford medical care.

"I am sleeping actually on the cardboard right now, in the parking lot", she said.

One California man has invited her to perform at a local event and set up a Gofundme campaign to raise money to replace an instrument Zamourka said was stolen from her, according to local media reports.
