NASA's all-female spacewalk to happen this month

According to NASA, veteran spacewalkers Christina Koch and Andrew Morgan exited the station's Quest airlock in their US spacesuits on Sunday, 5 PM IST for a six-and-a-half hour spacewalk during which, they installed new lithium-ion batteries on Port-6 truss structure which is an attachment point of the solar arrays.

The first all-female spacewalk is back on, six months after a-sizing flap to an embarrassing cancellation. Meir said that the International Space Station (ISS) is qualified to perform the spacewalks and that there are enough properly sized suits this time. "Pretty awesome." Half-an-hour later, as the station soared 250 miles (400km) above the Mediterranean, Koch asked: "What are we flying over?" The first two will be with her crewmate Andrew Morgan on October 5 and October 11.

Two female astronauts will get another chance to make history with an all-female spacewalk. A medium was sent up to the station in June.

"I'm sure that they'll sit back and reflect on it, as we all will". McClain herself made the decision and the teams supported her, Koch said.

Koch and Meir, a marine biologist who arrived at the orbiting lab last week, are both members of NASA's Astronaut Class of 2013, the first and only one with an even split between men and women. In addition to her first spacewalk with Koch, she will also conduct a spacewalk with European Space Agency astronaut Luca Parmitano.

Koch's mission will surpass that of Peggy Whitson, who spent 288 consecutive days in space, and end up just shy of the longest single spaceflight by a NASA astronaut: 340 days, set by Scott Kelly.

Ron Johnson Defends Trump Request For Ukraine Probe
TODD: Let me start with something you told the Wall Street Journal late last week. He vehemently, angrily denied it. "I don't wanna see those two things combined".

NASA might be setting a new record for the agency but it will also achieve a new milestone on October 21.

"In the past, women at the table", Koch said during a televised interview earlier this week.

Although NASA is yet to schedule the spacewalks, they are likely to unfold throughout November.

"And it's wonderful to be contributing to the human spaceflight program at a time when all contributions are being accepted". Only one is two women.
