Ron Johnson Defends Trump Request For Ukraine Probe

That Johnson tried to turn a simple question into some sort of deep state conspiracy theory speaks volumes about the current state of the Republican Party and Trump. Johnson said the president was looking at withholding aid because he wanted to know "what happened in 2016".

"I'm completely sympathetic with President Trump wanting to get the truth, where did this Russian Federation narrative begin?" My reaction was, 'Oh God.

"Just [Hunter Biden] being on the board [of Ukraine gas company Burisma Holdings] - you don't need more evidence to know to know that was wildly freaky, inappropriate, has never happened in finance that somebody with no experience would be on the board and get that money when you have the C.E.O. under investigation", she continued. Johnson said Friday he had learned from a US ambassador that President Donald Trump was tying military aid for Ukraine to an investigation of the 2016 election.

You had said when Mr. Sondland - Gordon Sondland seemed to imply that - the frozen military aid was connected to a promise by Zelensky for investigations, you said, "At that suggestion, I winced".

Still, Murphy predicted public opinion could change rapidly "as you see more Republicans go into the bunker. and the president go deeper into trying to get. more countries to interfere in our elections".

TODD: Let me start with something you told the Wall Street Journal late last week. Chuck Grassley have sent multiple letters to the intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) asking whether that office has opened investigations into the possible CIA leaks. Johnson began by saying, "No, no, I don't". And so what President Trump's had to endure, a false accusation - by the way, you've got John Brennan on - you oughta ask Director Brennan what did Peter Strzok mean when he texted Lisa Page on December 15th, 2016?

Todd interjected, "Senator, what does this has to do with Ukraine".

Brexit deal is "essentially impossible" ever, says Downing Street source
Merkel's concerns "represent a new established position, then it means a deal is essentially impossible, not just now but ever ". Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney at the European Union headquarter in Brussels, Belgium , on September 27, 2019.

When Todd asked Johnson "Do you not trust the Federal Bureau of Investigation?" And because Trump still commands the hearts and minds of the Republican base, very few GOP elected officials are willing to risk the President's ire.

"I have no idea why a Fox News conspiracy propaganda stuff is popping up on here". "I was supporting the aid". He adamantly denied it.

"Sen. Johnson, please", Todd said at one point during the contentious interview. He vehemently, angrily denied it. "I don't wanna see those two things combined".

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Trump blocked Johnson in August from telling Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky that USA aid was on its way, at the same time that the president was appealing to Zelensky to investigate his potential 2020 contender Joe Biden.

A day earlier, NBC News published a story revealing the highly classified detail that USA intelligence agencies had spies inside the Kremlin who reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered the Russian hacking operation against Democrats during the 2016 election.

"I don't blame people like Chuck Todd on NBC for being woefully ignorant about finance and so many in the media out there say the whole [Biden] thing in Ukraine has been debunked - and they like to use that phrase", Francis said.
