Social media users speak about mental health after Every Mind Matters launch

The Dukes and Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex are launching a new mental health campaign

They further note: "We can all benefit from taking simple steps to look after our mental health... and help those around us". Every Mind Matters is a tool that represents another step in that direction by helping people take action to manage their mental health when they are not quite sure where to start.

The film, written by Richard Curtis, featured celebrities including Gillian Anderson, Glenn Close, Davina McCall, Will Young, Sir Bradley Wiggins, and Nadiya Hussain.

Middleton explains: "It'll get you started with a free online plan created to help you deal with stress, boost your mood, improve your sleep, and feel more in control". The new platform, which has been endorsed by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RGCP), will enable people to create a personalised action plan recommending a set of self-care actions to deal with stress, boost mood, improve sleep and feel in control.

The couple joined surfers in Cape Town, South Africa, on September 24 to talk about mental health, revealing they both practice meditation to help keep their mental health strong.

A spokeswoman for PHE said: "We're back up and running now".

The three-minute film is meant to promote Every Mind Matters, an initiative by Public Health England (PHE) and the NHS, to help people look after their mental health and support others. So at the same time the NHS is expanding the availability of specialist mental health support and treatment, people are increasingly interested in practical steps they can take themselves to prevent and manage common mental health problems such as anxiety, stress and depression. We feel stressed, low, anxious and have trouble sleeping. There's a quick questionnaire, and the results will give people hints and tips so they can put together a personal action plan to improve their daily lives - such as increasing physical activity, learning new skills, doing something creative.

The Every Mind Matters initiative marks the first time the four royals have collaborated publicly since June, when Harry and Meghan announced they were leaving the Royal Foundation, the charitable organization they shared with Prince William and Kate, to establish their own charitable foundation.

Health secretary Matt Hancock said Every Mind Matters is an "accessible tool to help manage our wellbeing at the click of the button".

"Ahead of Mental Health Awareness Day on Thursday 10th October, we want everyone to know there's no need to wait until they're struggling with their mental health".

Based on the answers, it generates an individualized list of steps to take such as increasing physical activity, connecting with friends, performing breathing exercises and reframing from negative thinking.

Of those who took action, 34% of people in the West Midlands (33% in Birmingham) only did so when it had an impact on their daily life.
