Because he's never dabbled in cannabis he didn't recognize an off-taste.

Brown was driving to work as he drank the tea that had a weird taste, so by the time he made it to his job, he said he was "high as a kite".

He said by poking in his drink with his straw, he'd pierced the bags, causing the drink to become spiked with the leaves of the drug, news.com.au reports.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to Major Bob Bromage, from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office spokesman. He didn't specify which particular McDonald's restaurant was being investigated over the allegations. The marijuana found in the drink has been submitted for evidence. "We are fully cooperating with law enforcement on the validity of this claim", a rep for McDonald's told the publication.
