Amazon has fired a number of employees who shared customer email addresses and phone numbers with third parties without customers' consent, an Amazon spokesperson said.

An Amazon spokesperson told Business Insider that its internal system detected "suspicious behavior" and immediately fired several employees involved. If reading that gives you some serious déjà vu, it's probably because the same damn thing happened less than six months ago.

Following the launch of allegations of theft, a statement made by the Amazon side, users' e-mail addresses and phones outside the information was accepted to be leaked. Amazon informed to those who were affected through mails and said it's supporting law enforcement in this issue.

For the second time, Amazon has recognized that its employees improperly accessed customer information.

Updated headline to clarify that an unknown number of employees were fired.

Joaquin Phoenix is doing everything he can to make sure that the world we live in is in a much better place than we found it in. He then admitted that he "can't avoid" flying on planes, 'but one thing he can do is change his eating habits'.

Amazon, whose data violations report card was broken in 2019, did not start well in 2020.

The company hasn't revealed the exact numbers of how many customers were breached nor the number of employees involved in the incident.

Just a couple of days back, we reported that Amazon-owned Ring fired four employees after they were caught snooping around private customer recordings.

Not much is known about this particular incident. Amazon was just as vague about a similar breach of email addresses previous year, in which Amazon declined to comment further. Amazon also refrained from making detailed statements about the issue.
