Astros: Three key takeaways from Major League Baseball sign stealing report

After Hinch received a one-year suspension Monday, and then subsequently was sacked, his bench coach from that 2017 World Series run (Cora) seemed doomed to the same fate.

As you would expect, the Red Sox have yet to name an official replacement for Cora, who went 192-132 during his run as Boston's skipper, as the team's new manager.

In 2017, the Houston Astros participated in a scheme to steal signs from the catcher. They placed a camera in the center field of their home stadium, which filmed the catchers' signals and then relayed this information to a monitor in the Astros' dugout, according to the nine-page report signed by league commissioner Robert Manfred.

With that in mind, it's also unclear if any of the current Red Sox coaches will also be penalized in MLB's investigation.

Holliday's comments come one day after the Major League Baseball announced their punishments for the Astros' management team for their involvement with the sign-stealing scandal. As part of the punishment, general manager Jeff Luhnow and manager AJ Hinch were both suspended for a year.

Cora made those lines a little clearer by mentioning sign-stealing "devices" without any prompting. With the Astros and Red Sox quickly distancing themselves from those named in the report, the Mets have to follow suit.

Pompeo Not Sure Who First Said 'Imminent'
She also talked about USA troops present in Afghanistan, saying, "No one has a solution and an end point ". Last week, Iran admitted that one of its soldiers had targeted the plane with missiles and shot it down.

In a statement, Luhnow accepted responsibility for rules violations, but he insisted he was not a "cheater" and placed blame on Cora, then the bench coach.

The Red Sox couldn't sustain 2018's success in Cora's second season, finishing 84-78 and third in the division, 19 games behind the Yankees.

The replay room is where staff members watch the game and can point out plays for the team's manager to challenge.

Cora is the brother of Pirates third base coach Joey Cora. It's the best way to watch player interviews, exclusive coverage from events and more!

The scheme was entirely player-driven, but the league announced no players will be punished because the investigation found that it wouldn't make sense given that many players are on other teams now and punishing individual players would be hard because so many were involved. He also played a role in Houston's system of banging a trash can to inform teammates what pitch was coming.

Witnesses say the new scheme was "player-driven" - with the exception of Cora.
