Buckingham Palace denies claims Prince Charles snubbed Pence in Jerusalem

Vice President Pence to visit Lowcountry receive Patriot Award

A video clip from the Fifth World Holocaust Forum in Jerusalem, Israel, went viral on social media for showcasing what users perceived to be a nonverbal diss from Charles, the prince of Wales, toward US Vice President Mike Pence.

Despite Pence standing up to shake his hand, the Prince merely looked him in the eye with a straight face before moving on to shake hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was seated next to Pence.

But when he came to Pence, the heir to the throne appeared to "snub" the vice president and carry on walking. The gathering, at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, focused on the unity among World War II allies as they battled Germany, with speeches by Putin, Prince Charles, and French President Emmanuel Macron."It's not a problem of the Jews", Macron said in French.

The Prince of Wales, on the other hand, has been advocating for the environment for decades, starting with a speech he made a speech on the topic in 1968.

A video showing the UK's Prince Charles appearing to dodge a handshake with US Vice President Mike Pence doesn't tell the whole story, the White House has insisted, claiming the two men greeted each other warmly earlier. Both Buckingham Palace and Pence's press secretary, Katie Waldman, have denied that any snub took place. In a statement to the BBC, a royal family spokesperson denied any such ill intention on Charles's part.

After releasing a photos of Pence and the prince smiling together, the VP's press shop released a video (without sound) of the two speaking to one another for about 30 seconds.
