CDC Confirms a Single Coronavirus Case in San Antonio

Maine Resident Being Tested for Coronavirus

US states have begun validating the CDC-developed tests and in some cases have come up with inconclusive results. But the failure of the kits means that states still have to depend on the C.D.C., which will mean several days' delay in getting results. Each kit can test about 700 to 800 specimens from patients, the agency said.

Then, Wednesday night, a fourteenth patient was confirmed.

Last week, CDC announced it had begun shipping more than 200 kits to laboratories throughout the country. The Illinois Department of Public Health said it has not had any issues with the kits and it's continuing with its testing for the coronavirus.

This is the first case of the coronavirus confirmed in Texas. "As soon as we are given the invitation, we are happy to do that", Messonnier said.

But the labs reported that while performing a verification procedure they realized the kits were returning inconclusive results, meaning neither positive nor negative.
