NY could sue US in travel, immigration disagreement: Cuomo

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo speaks during a bill signing ceremony in New York

The closed-door meeting comes after the Trump administration announced last week that NY state residents can no longer participate in certain Trusted Traveler Programs, including Global Entry, due to provisions in the state's new "Green Light Law" supporting undocumented immigrants.

The administration took action over the state's Green Light Law that allows illegal immigrants to apply for driver's licenses but blocks federal access to the state Department of Vehicles records.

"I will never give them access to the DMV database, but, for the TTP enrollees on a case-by-case basis, that's different", he said.

The governor and the president are expected to sit down together at the White House at 3 pm to discuss the Trump administration's ban on New Yorkers from taking party in the Trusted Traveler Program - that speeds up the process for citizens returning to the USA from overseas. "I'll give it to you". Cuomo said he believes Trump simply wants access to records on those people, so federal immigration officials can have a "feeding frenzy".

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he plans to meet with Trump on Thursday; the White House confirmed the meeting.

Cuomo has said the memo shows the new policy is meant to punish NY and other states for granting drivers licenses to people in the country illegally.

The meat-eating predator is said to have walked the Earth roughly 79.5 million years ago, nearly 2.5 million years older than its famous T-Rex cousin.

"You apply for this and you do an in-person interview with the federal government and you provide them all your documentation", he said.

"And by the way it's not just NY", he added.

James fired back at Trump, tweeting that her state would cease the lawsuits "when you stop violating the rights and liberties of all New Yorkers".

An agency spokeswoman described the memo to Buzzfeed as "informational" and said it did not affect the decision to cut the expedited travel programs for tens of thousands of New Yorkers.

"Cuomo must assert that we will not compromise our values and demand we draw a bright line between federal immigration enforcement and local law enforcement", he said in a statement.
