SC girl found dead, days after going missing

Cayce Department of Public Safety shows Faye Marie Swetlik who has been missing since shortly after getting off her school bus near her South Carolina home Monday Feb. 10 2020

Director Byron Snellgrove just updated community and media that the body of Faye Swetlik has been found.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher confirmed the body found was Faye, and the investigation is now a homicide.

Wednesday morning, Cayce police updated the public with new video showing Faye getting off her school bus Monday afternoon, just minutes before her family said she was last seen.

"We are now treating this case as a homicide".

Faye was reported missing Monday from her home in Churchill Heights, Cayce officials said. No arrests have yet been made.

Authorities didn't give any evidence to connect the two deaths, but said there is no danger to the public.

He assured residents that the area was safe and took no questions.

Unai Emery: Some Arsenal players had bad attitudes during my reign
Emery, who was eventually replaced by Mikel Arteta, had failed to guide Arsenal to a win in his final seven games in charge. That's a very heavy suggestion from Ceballos that he turned Liverpool down, which is perhaps exaggerating things a little.

Faye disappeared from the front yard of her Cayce, South Carolina home while she was playing outside after school Monday. "We want to get Faye back home", Sergeant Evan Antley said. Investigators said they have not ruled out any possibilities that she may have walked off or fell somewhere and is in distress. She always wants to play and have fun.

Anyone with information that could help law enforcement is urged to contact 803-205-4444. The chief continued by saying that the little girl was loved by everyone who knew her including her teacher and fellow classmates at Springdale Elementary School, the SRO that works there, and her family.

Sometime around 3.45 pm, her family realised Faye was missing, he said.

He did not elaborate on Faye's death but said a deceased male was found in Faye's neighborhood of Churchill Heights. The number of searchers increased to more than 250 by Tuesday morning (local time), according to the Cayce Department of Public Safety.

Faye, who has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes, was last seen Monday afternoon. "Her mom was very attentive in watching Faye". Cayce DPS Chief Byron Snellgrove said he invited the Federal Bureau of Investigation to join the search, and they are actively participating in the search.

Faye is lactose intolerant and has a speech impediment, the department said.

Right now the search for Faye remains focused on her neighborhood. "Hundreds of hours of video have been reviewed, witnesses have been interviewed, and we continue to follow leads as they are called in", the Cayce Department Of Public Safety said in a statement on Facebook Wednesday.
