Trump accuses Qatar of funding terror 'at a very high level'

"We are willing to sit and talk", Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani told CNN late on Tuesday. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said isolating Qatar would not resolve any problems.

Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states accuse Doha of supporting extremist groups, but Tillerson suggested that all sides needed to do more."The emir of Qatar has made progress in halting financial support and expelling terrorist elements from his country, but he must do more and he must do it more quickly", Tillerson said.

In the biggest face-off in the Gulf region in several decades, Saudi, UAE and Bahrain are among 10 countries to cut off or downgrade ties with Qatar. The Gulf spat is likely to further fuel inter-rebel conflicts in Syria, where rivalries between Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been showcased since the earliest days of the crisis.

"I want to call on all of the nations to stop immediately supporting terrorism, stop teaching people to kill other people, stop filling their minds with hate and intolerance".

"The emir has no plans to leave Qatar while the country is under a blockade", the official told Reuters, declining to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter. Qatar hosts 8,000 U.S. military personnel at al-Udeid, the largest USA airbase in the Middle East and a launchpad for US-led strikes on the Islamic State militant group. Riyadh denied any involvement.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir, who has said Gulf states could resolve the dispute among themselves without outside help, traveled to Muscat on Thursday to meet his Omani counterpart.

Tensions between Qatar and Saudi Arabia - a Middle East heavyweight - bubbled to the surface two weeks ago when Qatar said its state-run news agency and its Twitter account were hacked to publish a fake story claiming the emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, had called Iran "a regional and Islamic power that can not be ignored". Gaza's Islamic Hamas rulers, a major recipient of Qatari aid, have called Saudi Arabia's call for Qatar to cut ties with the Palestinian militant group "regrettable" and said it contradicts traditional Arab support for the Palestinian cause.

Tories Lose Chance to Win Majority in UK Parliament
However, with almost all votes counted, the Conservatives are on 315 seats, short of the 326 mark that ensures a majority. Corbyn's rise is one of the biggest surprises. "It was tightly knit group, and it was her group that ran this campaign".

His government hopes this "unfortunate phase will be overcome and the crisis will be resolved on solid grounds that guarantee that all Arab states cooperate to build a better future for our people".

Qatar said the terror listing is part of "baseless allegations that hold no foundation in fact".

Turkey has meanwhile brought forward a planned troop deployment to Qatar and pledged to provide food and water supplies to its Arab ally, which hosts a Turkish military base. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar is home to more than 11,000 US and coalition forces and an important base for the fight against Islamic State.

Qatar faced a similar crisis in 2014 that saw Arab countries pull their ambassadors from the country.

The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), initially considered and developed as a method of gas transportation to extremely remote places like the US, Japan and Korea, is not a cost efficient, secure and durable method as a pipeline project could be.

The situation may not be easy to solve; the UAE has said it is prepared to hand down sentences of up to 15 years or impose fines of no less than half a million dirhams ($13,600) to anyone it deems to be sympathizing with Qatar, Gulf News reported.

"Strict and firm action will be taken against anyone who shows sympathy or any form of bias towards Qatar, or against anyone who objects to the position of the United Arab Emirates, whether it be through the means of social media, or any type of written, visual or verbal form", Gulf News quoted UAE Attorney-General Hamad Saif al-Shamsi as saying.
