Intel will begin shipping 10nm Ice Lake processors in June

Still, it may well be worth the wait.

Apparently, Intel has not predicted when the first laptops based on the novel parts will be available but said that its future Core i7 quad-core chip will promote twice the graphics performance over its 8th-generation counterpart, up to three times the AI capabilities, and twice the video transcoding speed.

As we move into 2021 we have already got to the crossover where Intel hopes that it will both intro the first 10nm++ products and the first 7nm products to its range offerings.

Sources familiar with the matter commented that one can expect numerous 10nm chips throughout 2019 and 2020, including server-side processors, a general-purpose GPU, and specialized parts like the AI-oriented Nervana.

AMD, in the meantime, said it plans to launch its first 7nm EPYC "Rome" server processors, as well as its first 7nm Radeon Navi client GPUs, in the third quarter. The smaller the chips are, the more advanced technology they feature and the more pieces they can fit around it.

In the coming months Intel will launch two Xeon processors that will belong to the same platform: Cooper Lake CPUs made using Intel's 14 nm manufacturing technology, and Ice Lake chips produced using Intel's 10 nm node. The chipmaker added it plans to deliver even smaller 7nm chips by 2021. Also next year we will see the first 10nm+ products.

Rudy Giuliani Is Pushing Ukraine To Investigate Joe Biden’s Connections
The news came hours after Trump had told Politico in an interview that he planned to speak with Giuliani about the trip. The former mayor also wants the country to find information about Joe Biden's son Hunter and a Ukrainian oligarch.

"It would be better for enterprises if Intel succeeds in this as it will keep processor costs down, which is critical given the CPU-intensive loads required by AI and machine learning technology that powers most next generation apps", Mueller said. However, the CEO reiterated his belief that "product leadership" is more important as the company targets a much larger market for its processors.

"NM" means "nanometers" and indicates the size of a computing chip.

Intel plans that the introduction of 7nm will overlap with the last node of 10: 10++.

He said that total revenue at the processor maker will increase by low, single-digit percentages over the next three years, Swan said. ' His comments related to projections of slowing growth - though still growth - on the back of weak sales of its data centre products.

Details of Intel's Xe architecture have been trickling out since Intel confirmed its design win for the Aurora supercomputer, which it will build with partner Cray for Argonne National Laboratory in line with US exascale goals.

Intel's share price dropped 2.46 percent in after-market trading following the meeting, after a 1.24 percent decline at market close.
