Pacquiao to fight Thurman in WBA welterweight showdown

Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KO) is an eight-division world boxing champion, While Thurman is undefeated in his 29 fights, with 22 of his victories coming by way of knockout.

After that win, Thurman was keen to talk up a bout with the legendary Pacquiao and he now has his shot at the Filipino.

After that fight, Pacquiao said he meant to fight again in July, which is when he has time off from his job as a senator in the Philippines.

According to the tweet, the fight will take place on Fox PPV, although no site has been announced as of yet.

Thurman has a flawless record of 29 wins from 29 bouts but fans are unsure if he will continue that against a fighter with as much experience as Pacquiao.

He holds the WBA's secondary "world" welterweight title.

Former world champion Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring to fight Keith Thurman in a WBA welterweight bout in July, promoters have confirmed.

The card for July 20 will also include IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant (18-0, 10 KOs) vs. Mike Lee (21-0, 11 KOs).

Pacquiao, 40, most recently fought on January 19, where he beat Adrian Broner in a 12-round fight in Las Vegas.

The 30-year-old Thurman edged Joselito Lopez by majority decision in his previous fight last January.
