Mom jailed after sharing viral video of her daughter licking tongue depressor

Felony charges for mom who recorded daughter licking tongue depressor at medical center

Officials in Florida said they have launched an investigation into a video that appears to show a girl licking a tongue depressor at a doctor's office before putting it back.

The video, shared by Ward herself, shows her daughter reach her hand into the depressor jar, ignoring a sign which reads: 'Please do not touch medical supplies!'

She was arrested and booked into the Duval County Jail on the morning of July 11, according to jail records obtained by News 4 Jax.

Asked by News4Jax why she recorded the video, Ward said, "I had just been waiting a long time".

Her soon-to-be ex-husband says he was horrified when he realized the girl in the video was his daughter.

According to Actions News Jax, Ward responded to social media criticism by saying it wasn't a choreographed prank, let alone anything motivated by a social media fad.

The video comes amid a disturbing trend in which people are licking items and putting them back. "Each year, we serve thousands of patients, and providing quality care and ensuring their safety is our top priority". "Don't Mess With Texas. or with Blue Bell".
