Atletico Madrid spree continues with €29m Hermoso capture

"Trippier, who will wear the number 23 shirt at Atletico, the same number compatriot David Beckham wore at Real Madrid, said: "(It's a source of) pride and a great challenge for me to come here.

England right back Kieran Trippier has signed for Atletico Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur, the two clubs said on Wednesday.

The England defender's completed his €22-million move from Tottenham and signed a three-year contract with Los Rojiblancos.

Atletico Madrid's close-season spending spree has continued with the €29 million (£26m/$33m) acquisition of Spain defender Mario Hermoso from Espanyol. "I've always wanted to play overseas and what a place to play", Trippier told Atleti's official website.

And it would seem having the opportunity to work with Simeone was a major factor in Trippier's move to Madrid.

Commerce chief Ross calls contempt vote 'political theater'
In late June, the Supreme Court derailed the administration's plans to add the question, saying their argument wasn't good enough. Justin Amash , an independent congressman from MI who recently left the Republican Party, voted in favor of the resolution.

'They have a fantastic team and an unbelievable manager and I'm just looking forward to getting on with it now and meeting the team.

Trippier has played 16 times for England scoring one goal, direct from a free kick in the World Cup semi-final loss to Croatia previous year.

He also helped Spurs to the Champions League final for the first time in their history last season, where they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

The centre-back joins Kieran Trippier, from Tottenham, as a new Atletico signing, as they look to bolster a back-line shaken by the departures of Diego Godin and Lucas Hernandez.

Trippier added of his decision to leave England: "I've always wanted to play overseas, especially LaLiga, since I was young and I've got a great opportunity now and it's one that I'm going to really enjoy and give my all".
