It Chapter Two unleashes terrifying new trailer

After giving fans a sneak peek at It Chapter Two at Comic-Con's Wednesday preview night, Warner Bros. released the trailer for all the world to see on Thursday. "Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, It Chapter Two brings the characters-who've long since gone their separate ways-back together as adults, almost three decades after the events of the first film", the synopsis reads.

Or did they? The group quickly comes to the realization their childhood horrors aren't really over when Pennywise returns and has set out for revenge.

Check out the trailer above.

Based on the novel It by Stephen King, the film is directed by Andy Muschietti.

The character of Pennywise the clown is a form of It - which is the shapeshifting monster that feeds off the fear of children; he lives in the sewer system in Derry, Maine and preys on children approximately every 27 years.

"You know what they say about Derry".

Chastain previously shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that the film will feature one of the bloodiest scenes ever committed to screen.

"The next day I was pulling [fake] blood out of my eyeballs", the actress added. Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor will reprise their roles from the first movie.

It Chapter Two is set to be released on September 6th, almost two years since the release of the 2017 remake. The film is Muschietti's follow-up to 2017's critically acclaimed and massive worldwide box office hit "IT", which grossed over $700 million globally.
