Mass Email About 2Pac Gets Iowa DHS Director Ousted From Job

Tupac Shakur

Only God can judge him - but the governor of Iowa can fire him.

If they do, they may be in danger of becoming the next Jerry Foxhoven, who was recently ousted from his job as a Director at Iowa's Department of Human Services, with many speculating it was due to his overly-shared love of late rapper Tupac Shakur.

While some of the employees at his office enjoyed the Tupac-related content, at least one person complained to Iowa state lawmakers after Foxhaven sent an email to the entire agency to celebrate Tupac's birthday over a weekend last month.

Foxhoven regularly held "Tupac Fridays" in his office, where the rapper's music was played - the lawyer said he liked breaking stereotypes about who listens to rap.

"I love your 2pac messages ... and the fact that you still send them (despite the haters) makes me appreciate them even more", one employee wrote, according to the AP.

Although Foxhaven's obsession with the rapper - who was killed in 1996 - became known throughout the office, one employee felt it had gone too far, and complained to a lawmaker previous year, the emails show. Father's Day was coming up, Foxhoven noted, and so were two important anniversaries: his own two-year as department director and Shakur's birthday.

Foxhoven's story comes to us via Associated Press reporter Ryan J. Foley, who penned a story about the deposed official under the headline "Emails show Iowa official's Tupac fixation before his ouster".

Epstein Had Cash, Diamonds, Foreign Passport in Locked Safe, Prosecutors Say
Chief Deputy Michael Gauger said in an interview . "If you have already made the decision to come forward, thank you". Rossmiller said the pictures included at least one woman who has identified herself as one of Epstein's victims.

He said he knew one of his staff had reported Foxhoven's Tupac references to state legislators.

"Part of the reason I like Tupac [is that] it's good music - it's not just rap with a bass in the background", he explained.

However, speaking to the New York Times, Foxhoven has cast doubt on whether his love for the late rapper really had anything to do with his departure from the department. Prior to his work in the agency, he was a Drake University law professor.

He said he began listening to Shakur's music almost 30 years ago, when the rapper was still alive.

The report does mention multiple controversies involving the agency; while stopping short of speculating that any were the actual cause of Foxhoven's dismissal, it does note that Reynolds wanted to take DHS in "a different direction".

It appears that all eyes, were indeed, on Foxhoven and his emails.
