Joe Biden leads 2020 Democrats as Elizabeth Warren gains, Kamala Harris slips

Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden speaks Friday during a campaign stop in Laconia N.H

She voted for Sanders in the 2016 primary but has not endorsed a candidate so far.

As it stands now, polls show Sanders and Warren vying for second place behind Biden even though the combined bloc supporting the two progressives is larger than that of the ex-vice president.

Poll of the week: A new Marquette University Law School poll from Wisconsin finds that former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump 51% to 42% in a hypothetical matchup. He leads the Democratic pack in polls and consistently defeats Trump in head-to-head match-ups. Biden's support had declined 12 percent from when the Monmouth survey was taken in June. About 29 percent of respondents chose him, versus 26 percent choosing Sanders and 17 percent choosing Warren.

Asked in New Hampshire on Saturday how she's preparing, Warren said simply, "Can we just start with the fact that these are not debates like those were debates?" "Have you seen anybody draw bigger crowds than me in this state?"

The news that Warren is in talks with Clinton has sparked anger on social media, with some calling her a "centrist opportunist" and saying she is "not an ally to Bernie but to the establishment." .

Sanders, who entered and exited to John Lennon's song "Power to the People", energized the crowd in a way no other top tier candidate - including Biden, Sens.

Back in July, 38% of voters were considering both Warren and Harris.

"Her supporters are now relocating to Elizabeth Warren at twice the price that they've moved to Joe Biden and to other candidates". It was April 2018 and Ms. Warren, up for re-election, was at a breakfast fund-raiser hosted for her by John M. Connors Jr., one of the old-guard power brokers of MA. However, she said in October she would take a "hard look" at running, all but confirming the rumors she had her eyes on the White House.

So why do so many alleged pros fixate on superficial measurements of the Democrats' support?

Saturday's convention kicked off a critical stretch of the campaign in New Hampshire, which in February will hold the nation's first primary. Biden's stance on gun control matches that of his fellow 2020 candidates who have called for similar proposals for gun confiscation and banning of certain firearms, demonstrating his ever-continuing shift to the left on key issues and moving him further away from centrist voters.

A central challenge for Harris in the months ahead will be to offer a compelling - and succinct - reason she should be elected. When she launched her candidacy, blocks from the courthouse where she began her career as a deputy district attorney, she said her campaign was a fight against those "trying to sow hate and division", and that she would "seek truth, speak truth and fight for the truth". "I don't think Bernie's as good at that".

"I'm an Obama-Biden Democrat, man".

However, while some are backing Warren for now, many voters, presidential nominees and Democratic Party officials were preaching support for whomever the nominee may be.

Former Housing Secretary Julian Castro said that if Democrats want to ensure Trump is defeated, "we can't do the same old thing".

The host of "The Late Show" pressed the former vice president about his mistakes, asking him bluntly 'are you going nuts?'

According to Monday's new ABC News/Washington Post poll, even gun-owning households and individuals skeptical that stricter gun safety legislation might reduce gun violence, there is still broad and sweeping support for some of the most basic legislation on the table.

According to four Republicans close to Trump who have heard the latest admissions, Trump has told friends and donors that he doesn't think the "socialism" agenda will be "easy" to beat in a general election, according to the Daily Beast. "But we can't choose a candidate we don't believe in because we're scared", said Sen. "We have enough people that can do this job".
