Coleen Rooney accuses Rebekah Vardy of selling stories to tabloid

Coleen Rooney, wife of the prominent English football player Wayne Rooney, has accused fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy of leaking details about her personal life to the press. And it was Rebekah Vardy, the wife of Wayne Rooney's England teammate, Jamie Vardy.

In order to try and prove it, she came up with a plan in which she blocked everyone from viewing her Instagram stories apart from one account.

They did, and the only person who had viewed those Instagram stories was Vardy.

Earlier today, Rooney told her 1.2million Twitter followers that she had spent five months attempting to work out who was sharing stories based on her personal social media posts, before pointing the finger at Vardy, prompting the footballer's wife to pubicly deny the accusations made against her.

Taking to Twitter last night, occasional TV personality Coleen Rooney said she has always been targeted by invasive stories in The Sun, which featured personal information she only shared with family and friends. She says this took a while to figure out who it was and she had a suspicion. Someone on my private Instagram seen the picture and is telling or selling stories to a certain newspaper.

It's nearly certain that you won't know Coleen Rooney or Rebekah Vardy, the two British quasi-celebrities at the heart of 2019's greatest beef.

"It's been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have been leaked, however I had to".

Opening up on The Jeremy Vine Show, Nicola said: "I don't know Coleen but I do know Rebekah and what she's going through is what nobody should have to go through so publicly".

Rebekah Vardy responded by tweeting a lengthy message to Coleen Rooney, who she claimed to have discussed the matter with on the phone, to reject the claim.

"I said to her: 'Coleen, what on earth have you done?'", Vardy said. "I'm disgusted that I'm even having o deny this".

But while Rooney might now be the most famous, modern-day amateur detective, she's not alone in her investigative work. She said: "I have to say the day took a slightly different turn for me". To get to the bottom of the riddle, she said, she used some amateur sleuthing and a series of fake, planted stories. She said to me: "I'm not pointing the finger" and I said, 'You have just annihilated me in public and hung me out to dry.

But it's too late: the spat has now gone viral, particularly with regard to how Rooney says she arrived at her conclusion.

The internet went wild for Coleen's detective prowess, with some calling for her to be awarded a Pulitzer Prize. "Rebekah Vardy's account". Dun dun dun.
