Gronkowski joins FOX Sports as NFL analyst

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski speaks to reporters ahead of Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta

"We're thrilled Rob chose FOX Sports for the next phase of his football life", said Brad Zager, Executive Producer and Executive Vice President, Head of Production and Operations, FOX Sports.

FOX Sports announced that the three-time Super Bowl champion will make his network debut as an National Football League analyst on FOX Thursday, Oct. 10.

Rob Gronkowski is adding yet another new chapter of his life, and it's foobtall-related.

According to FOX Sports, Gronkowski will be making his debut this Thursday when his former team, the New England Patriots, takes on the New York Giants.

Gronkowski retired after the Patriots won the Super Bowl last season, and there has been some speculation that he may try to make a return sometime this season.

MLB Playoffs Picks - 10/9 - STL Cardinals @ Atlanta Braves & Washington Nationals @ LA Dodgers
Left-hander Sean Doolittle and right-hander Daniel Hudson combined for two scoreless innings of relief for the Nationals . By the time the Atlanta Braves finally got the third out, it was the most productive first inning in postseason history.

In August, Gronkowski announced that he's partnered with a CBD company and became emotional when he said that football was "bringing me down" and that he wasn't in a good place mentally or physically, leading to his decision to retire at age 30.

Gronkowski will join Terry Bradshaw, Michael Strahan, and Tony Gonzalez, as well as, NFL Insider Peter Schrager for the pregame show.

While his joining FOX Sports as an analyst does not preclude him from returning to the field, Gronkowski appears to be content in retirement. "His passion for the game and larger-than-life personality make him a flawless fit".

He is also the NFL's postseason leader among tight ends in catches (81), receiving yards (1,163) and receiving touchdowns (12).

The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport was the first to report the news.
