Oilers ride Neal's 4 goals to win over Islanders

Willis Bet on James Neal rebounding with Oilers just not all the way

Hindsight is always 20/20 but it sure seems like history is on the side of the Edmonton Oilers when it comes to picking winners and losers in the Milan Lucic-James Neal trade.

In just his third game with his new team, Neal notched not one, not two, not three but four goals in a 5-2 rout of the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum Tuesday.

Neal, who had seven goals in 63 games for Calgary last season, got his first hat trick since March 14, 2016, when he did it against Edmonton while playing for Nashville.

With the four goals, Neal now has six goals in three games to start the season. Starting goalie Semyon Varlamov was chased after giving up four goals on 19 shots. Connor McDavid and Neal executed a give-and-go during the man advantage, and the second time Edmonton's captain sent the puck to Neal's stick, the opposing defenders had allowed No. 18 just enough space for him to slide the puck around Greiss for his second goal of the period.

The Islanders scored first when Anthony Beauvillier beat Oilers netminder Mikko Koskinen on a shorthanded breakaway.

I devoted judge or no longer it is appalling", stated Diane Foley, the victim's mother, the usage of an acronym for the ISIS. But a Government source said: "They are not British citizens and they are not coming back to this country".

The final result was 5-2.

Just 3:39 after taking the 1-0 lead, Neal forced an Islanders turnover deep in their defensive zone.

Brock Nelson appeared to pull the Islanders within two with 3:12 left, but the goal was disallowed after a video review showed he kicked the puck in.

The Kings surged back in front on the power play eight minutes into the third as a Doughty point shot ticked off an Oiler skate and past Smith.

The four-goal outburst was the first against the Islanders since Patrik Elias scored four times for the New Jersey Devils in 2003.
