US vaping-related deaths rise to 26, illnesses to 1,299

The two new deaths bring the total number of vaping-related deaths in the state to three since September 6, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on October 10 that deaths have been confirmed in 21 states.

Most who got sick said they vaped products containing THC, the marijuana ingredient that causes a high.

The guidance comes after MI announced the state's first death from vaping-related lung injury last week.

As of Tuesday, 1,299 confirmed or probable cases of lung injuries linked to vaping were recorded in the U.S.in every state except Alaska.

Victims who have died range in ages from 17 to 75 and average out to 45 years old.

Following the signs being taken away, Wachs stood up and yelled "Free Hong Kong " during the second quarter. On its Weibo page, Anta announced Tuesday that it would halt contract negotiations with the league.

Schuchat told reporters nationwide research suggested products containing THC, particularly those obtained off the street or from unknown sources, were linked to most of the cases and play a major role in the outbreak.

Before the vaping-related lung injury death, MI recently moved to ban flavored nicotine vapes, saying they appealed to children and barring retailers from selling them.

Symptoms of the vaping-related lung illnesses include shortness of breath, cough and chest pain, and in some cases, nausea, vomiting, fever and weight loss after vaping.

Ned Sharpless, the acting head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), reported that among samples tested of THC containing products, 47 percent contained Vitamin E acetate which is used as a cutting agent and is harmful when vaporized and inhaled. However, the ISDH said some individuals have reported vaping only nicotine.

On Friday, Canada's chief public health officer and all provincial and territorial medical officers of health said they're increasingly concerned by the substantial rise of vaping among Canadian youth.

Washington governor Jay Inslee last month urged state agencies to ban flavored and cannabis-derived vaping products and said more stringent rules could follow.
