More trouble for Trump on Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this week that in his July phone call with President Donald Trump, there was no talk of blackmail or bribes.

Responding Thursday to questions from The Associated Press, Zelenskiy said that he only learned after their July 25 phone call that the USA had blocked hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine. After he was informed, he discussed the matter with during his September meeting with Vice President Mike Pence.

Mr Trump has made allegations, without evidence, that Mr Biden engaged in improper dealings in Ukraine.

Mr Zelensky said he was open to a joint investigation into Burisma and the 2016 United States election but stressed Ukraine was an independent country with independent law enforcement agencies whose work he had no right to influence.

"There was no blackmail. This was not the subject of our conversation", Mr Zelensky said.

A former comedian who won a landslide election victory in April despite having no political experience, the 41-year-old Zelensky has been unwillingly drawn into a political battle in Washington between Mr Trump and his Democratic opponents.

Bella Hadid and The Weeknd are officially back together, plus more news
Though the crew was "drinking for several hours", it was not a "wild" event. "She was so happy when he arrived and surprised her". In attendance were her friends, mom Yolanda Hadid , sister Gigi Hadid, and brother Anwar Hadid and his girlfriend Dua Lipa .

Zelenskiy said the "key question" for him was to try to persuade the White House to "change its rhetoric" about Ukraine as a corrupt and untrustworthy country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy says his country will "happily" investigate whether Ukrainians interfered in the 2016 US elections. Trump has denied those claims, and the military aid has since been released to Ukraine. "When I did find out, I raised it with [Vice President] Pence at a meeting in Warsaw", he said.

And the officials became even more unnerved after the call, in which Trump asked Zelensky to "look into" Biden with Giuliani and Attorney General Bill Barr.

"And after our meeting, America unblocked the aid". Mr. Zelensky has been accused by Ukrainian analysts of letting Mr. Trump push him around on the call. "I said that we are not corrupt [regarding the Burisma investigation], that we are open to investigating all cases, and we we'll do it according to the law".

But Mr. Zelensky also said that it would be up to the USA judicial and legislative systems to determine whether Mr. Trump had violated any US laws during the call.
