Real Madrid president Perez wants Eriksen Zidane prefers Pogba

Los Blancos will start negotiating with Eriksen in 2020, as the Denmark global has told Tottenham that he won't re-sign with the club before his contract runs out next summer.

According to ESPN, Zidane could face opposition to the deal from within, however, with Perez said to be considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen instead.

The Denmark global has reportedly rejected several offers of a new deal from Spurs, and was hoping to move to a bigger club for a "new challenge" during the summer. His contract expires at the end of this season and Spurs are keen not to lose him for nothing.

Eriksen has been one of the most consistent creative midfielders in the Premier League over the last few seasons, and would fit very well in Real Madrid's style of play.

It has been reported that Tottenham are looking for €21 million (£18.32m) to €25m (£21.81m) for the Denmark worldwide attacking midfielder in the January transfer window. Paul Pogba was another player linked with a move there, but Marca report that La Liga's leaders are hell-bent on securing the Spurs man at the nearest possible opportunity after Manchester United's unwillingness to sell.

While Eriksen is one of a number of stars - including Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld - who could jump ship from struggling Spurs, who conceded ten goals in two matches before the worldwide break.
