Robert Forster, Oscar nominee for 'Jackie Brown,' dies at 78

Oscar nominated actor Robert Forster has died after a battle with brain cancer.

You know, Vince and I definitely plan on working together many times in the future and if it's Breaking Bad-related then great, if not then so be it.

Forster was perhaps best known for his role as bail bondsman Max Cherry in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, a role that was written with him in mind and for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Robert reprised his role as Ed in the Breaking Bad movie El Camino which premiered on Netflix the day of his death.

Forster is survived by his third wife, Evie, and his children Elizabeth, Kathrine, Maeghen, and Robert.

A native of Rochester, New York, Forster quite literally stumbled into acting when in college, intending to be a lawyer, he followed a fellow female student he was trying to talk to into an auditorium where "Bye Bye Birdie" auditions were being held. Forster's performance in "Mrs". Forster starred in movies with legendary actors like Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando, with his career simmering down in the early 1990s.

He worked consistently throughout the 1970s and 1980s in mostly forgettable B-movies - ultimately appearing in over 100 films, many out of necessity. He performed portions of the show for former first lady Nancy Reagan at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.

Bryan Cranston called Forster a "lovely man and a consummate actor" in a tweet.

"I've done a lot of genre pictures in my career.I've always liked them", Forster told the Bleecker Street blog upon the release of 2018's indie drama What They Had.
