Shadowlands revealed as World of Warcraft's next expansion

By the end of the trailer, Sylvanas destroys the Lich King's helmet and opens a rift between the world of the living and the Shadowlands, which is effectively the afterlife for characters in the Warcraft universe. It looks as though Bolvar is set to play a central role in the next WoW expansion, tentatively dubbed "Shadowlands".

Blizzard said it would reveal more about the changes coming in the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion during a BlizzCon panel later this afternoon.

New zones called Ardenweald, Bastion, Maldraxxus, Revendreth and Torghast were revealed, as players are invited to travel to the land of the dead (the Shadowlands), finding out the fates of fallen heroes and familiar faces along the way.

Three different options are available to buy, including the Base Edition of Shadowlands available for $39.99 SRP, providing a new lower entry point compared to previous expansions.

This seriously spooky observation was captured on Jun. 19, 2019 in visible light via the telescope's Advanced Camera for Surveys. But this face won't be here forever - this ring structure which formed the space will be here for around 100 million years.

In classic World of Warcraft expansion "Wrath of the Lich King", Alliance soldier Bolvar Fordragon replaced Arthas Menethil as the avatar of the Lich King, ruler of the undead Scourge on Azeroth.

Last but not least, with Shadowlands, Pandaren and all allied races will be able to become Death Knights. Those of us at home can also pre-purchase the expansion over on Blizzard's website.

The Epic Edition ($79.99) includes the Anima Wyrmling pet; the Wraithchill cosmetic weapon effect; the Eternal Traveler's Hearthstone, designed with a unique visual effect; and 30 days of game time, in addition to all of the contents from the Heroic Edition.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will launch in 2020, but no exact release date was given.
