Michael Bloomberg to file for Alabama 2020 presidential primary

Michael Bloomberg speaks at a news conference at a gun control advocacy event in Las Vegas earlier this year

TV personality Judge Judy has endorsed former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for president in 2020 in a new op-ed that lectures Democrats for moving away from centrist candidates. That could present a major threat to former Vice President Joe Biden, who's been falling in the polls and trailing in fundraising.

In March, Bloomberg ruled out a 2020 bid, telling friends that he was "clear-eyed about the difficulty of winning the Democratic nomination in such a crowded field".

Bloomberg dispatched staffers to Alabama to get enough signatures to qualify for the primary there, according to the Times.

Alabama is not an early voting state, but it has a deadline of Friday for candidates to officially enter the presidential race.

The news was first reported by The New York Times and confirmed by ABC News. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) during the Democratic Presidential Debate at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio on October 15, 2019. But in a statement Thursday, his political adviser Howard Wolfson says Bloomberg is anxious that the current crop of Democratic presidential candidates is "not well positioned" to defeat President Donald Trump.

Real Madrid boss Zidane defends players after Real Betis draw
Turkish worldwide forward Enes Unal scored his first goal this season for Valladolid as they hammered Mallorca 3-0. Real Madrid chief coach Zinedine Zidane has described how he chooses The Whites starting lineup, Marca reported .

Taking steps to file paperwork is the most serious signal yet that the former NY mayor and billionaire is seriously planning for a White House run.

"Based on his record of accomplishment, leadership and his ability to bring people together to drive change, Mike would be able to take the fight to Trump and win", Wolfson added, according to Bloomberg News.

Bloomberg is a former Republican-turned independent who registered as a Democrat past year. "That's not something any Democrat would want", another source told the Post.

Another person said that "people are just waiting for him to give the sign".
