Warren: Sanders Is Sending Volunteers 'Out to Trash Me'

A rare sign of discord emerged on Sunday between progressive Democratic presidential contenders Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders over a report that Sanders' campaign volunteers had called her a candidate of the elite in conversations with voters.

But it was Warren - who has generally avoided criticizing her fellow progressive over the course of the Democratic primary - who offered the sharpest criticism of the Vermont senator, saying she was "disappointed" by a report that the Sanders' campaign is instructing its volunteers to speak negatively about her to win over undecided voters and suggesting he is too divisive to beat Trump. "We all know the opposition research that Trump could throw against Bernie", one Democratic pollster told me.

Warren and Sanders, who are friends, fellow USA senators and their party's progressive standard-bearers, agreed early in the nominating contest to an informal non-aggression pact and have largely avoided criticizing each other. "Number one priority is to get rid of Donald Trump". Reuters could not verify the talking points. While it's great that candidates reach out to voters in these states at every pancake breakfast and town hall around, what about African-American, Latino, Asian American, Pacific Islanders, and other voters in places like Detroit, Montgomery, Phoenix, and Houston? "We are going to expose the fact that when Trump talks about being a friend of working people, he is a liar and a fraud". People do certain things. Sanders reportedly responded to Warren's pitch about reviving the economy and appealing to female voters by telling her "he did not believe a woman could win" in 2020.

Both Sanders and Warren, who are vying for the progressive lane in the primary and largely agree on numerous biggest issues in the race, have up until now publicly avoided attacking one another and in fact have been complimentary of each other. We will debate the issues. "That's what a campaign is about".

In return, the USA agreed to reduce tariffs on Chinese goods, but will still levy duties against $380 billion of those products. In Asia, MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.64%, touching its highest level since June 2018.

Politico noted that while Messina says he will not be endorsing any candidate in the 2020 race, the former campaign manager recently attended a Joe Biden fundraiser in California, noting that his wife is a supporter of the former vice president and his bid for the White House. "But the first two voting states, Iowa and New Hampshire, are among the most homogenous in the nation", Bloomberg said.

Messina anticipates problems for Democrats in swing states should the party nominate a radical candidate like Bernie Sanders. Sanders' campaign has not disputed the authenticity of the script.

Addressing his campaign's criticism of Biden, Sanders said: "We will contrast records - nothing wrong with that".

"The description of that meeting is based on the accounts of four people: two people Warren spoke with directly soon after the encounter, and two people familiar with the meeting", CNN explained, adding that three sources said "Warren told Sanders she disagreed with his assessment that a woman could not win". USA presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg told Reuters he is ready to spend much of his vast fortune to oust Republican President Donald Trump from the White House in 2020, rejecting criticism from rivals for the Democratic nomination that the billionaire is trying to buy the US election.
