Hope Hicks Leaves Fox to Return to White House

The New York Times reported Thursday morning that former White House Communications Director Hope Hicks is making a return to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. "She will be working closely with Jared Kushner and Brian Jack in a number of strategic areas", according to a White House official.

"There is no one more devoted to implementing President Trump's agenda than Hope Hicks", Kushner said in a statement to The Times.

The news was praised publicly by top administration officials, including Stephanie Grisham, the White House press secretary who also serves as the current White House communications director.

Stephanie Grisham, the White House press secretary and current White House communications director, said that after working with Hope for nearly six years she can say "without hesitation she is one of the most talented and savvy individuals I have come across".

Coronavirus: 'Way too early' to predict end of outbreak, World Health Organization says
It was not immediately clear how the new methodology affected the results, nor why the death toll rose so sharply. CCTV said 11 military aircraft including 6 Y-20 carried about the personnel and materials to Wuhan on Thursday.

Hicks' return comes as longtime former personal aide John McEntee, who was removed in 2018, rejoined the White House to run the White House Presidential Personnel Office. She worked to defend him when charges of domestic abuse against his two former wives emerged.

She was ultimately promoted to serve as the White House communications director before departing in early 2018.

She was once the recipient of Trump's repeated phone calls, the witness to his angriest moments, and according to other campaign aides, the person who steamed wrinkles out of his trousers. The White House also blocked Hicks from turning over documents subpoenaed by the committee.

Pressed on other matters, a White House lawyer interjected to claim that Hicks was fully immune from answering questions about her time working at the White House, according to a transcript of the hearing. Hicks was a spokesperson for Trump's 2016 campaign and was one of the first hires for his presidential bid. She remained one of the few aides to follow him from his political beginnings to the White House.
