A new probe built by NASA and the European Space Agency set off on a blazing hot journey to the sun on Sunday to take the first close-up look at the star's polar regions, a mission expected to yield insight into how solar radiant energy affects Earth. The last class of 11 NASA astronauts, which graduated in January, were picked from a record-breaking 18,000 applicants.

Citizenship of the United States of America and a Master's Degree in a STEM field constitutes the basic requirements to apply.

Up-and-comers will likewise need to pass the NASA long-term spaceflight physical and an online appraisal.

It will include classes in spacewalking at NASA's underwater Neutral Buoyancy Lab, robotics, the systems of the International Space Station and piloting the T-38 training jet, Russian language lessons, and the building blocks of the Artemis program to return to the Moon by 2024.

"For the bunch of profoundly gifted ladies and men, we will contract to join our different space traveler corps, and it's a fantastic time in human spaceflight to be a space explorer. We're inquiring as to whether they have what it to takes to apply starting March 2", NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a news discharge. Astronauts to be accepted will take part in the Lunar mission to be carried out until 2024 and the Mars mission to be carried out until mid-2030. NASA has announced its graduate degree in engineering, physics, computer science, biology and mathematics as a prerequisite.

Those selected in the first round will also have to complete two years of testing, which involves some of their most notorious training sequences, such as swimming the length of three pools and treading water continuously for 10 minutes while wearing a flight suit; running emergency scenarios in high- and low-pressure altitude chambers; and performing mid-air maneuvers in microgravity on an aircraft that toggles altitudes up to 40 times a day.

NASA wants to get to the South Pole of the moon by 2024 - and it wants to send a woman there for the first time, along with another man.

Since the sixties, NASA has chosen 350 people to train as astronaut candidates for its space missions.

Those who have a relevant Master's Degree and physically and mentally prepared to live and work 400 kilometres over Earth, will be eligible to go to space and walk on the moon.

You'll need a relevant Master's degree, be prepared to live and work 250 miles (400 kilometers) above Earth on the International Space Station, and be a USA citizen.
