Two Russian Satellites Chasing American Satellite

James Bond in Space Russian Spacecraft Trailing U.S. Spy Satellite

Raymond, commander of the still-new U.S. Space Command, said in a statement provided to CBS News this week that the two satellites were acting similarly to another set of satellites Russian Federation deployed about three years ago.

Just days after a near-miss of two American satellites in space high over Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, military leaders are warning of a new hazard: two russian satellites appear to be charing an American satellite in space, getting dangerously close to it.

Gen. John Raymond's statement marks the Space Force's first public confrontation leveled at an adversary in the increasingly competitive space domain, Time magazine reported Monday. "It has the potential to create a unsafe situation in space".

The Russian spacecraft launched in November as one satellite, which later released a second satellite from within it, nearly "birthing" it, USA military analysts said. Space Force commander said two Russian satellites are tailing an advanced USA spy satellite above the Earth and at times come within 100 miles of the billion-dollar spacecraft.

Russian media have said the newer Russian satellite in question is the Kosmos-2542.

Bangladesh and India players penalised after altercation
As soon as the match ended, it became tense with Bangladeshi players rushing to the ground and display aggressive body language. One suspension point equals to a player being ineligible for one ODI or T20I, Under-19 or A team global match.

Space enthusiast Michael Thompson raised concerns about Cosmos 2542's maneuvers on Twitter late last month. However, just two weeks after they were launched, amateur spacecraft tracker Michael Thompson noticed that one of the satellites, Kosmos 2542, performed a series of maneuvers that brought it closer to U.S. 245.

A graduate student, astrodynamics expert, and teaching assistant at Purdue University named Michael Thompson was the first to reveal the unusual Russian satellite and the space chase.

Russia's Foreign Ministry was working on its response to concerns voiced by the United States military earlier this week about the "disturbing" behavior of a pair of Russian spacecraft that flew near a USA government satellite. TIME said the US satellite, known as KH-11, monitors foreign military installations. The Space Force budget consists of $1.6 billion is for three national-security launches, $1.8 billion will go toward Global Positioning System projects, and $2.5 billion will support "space-based overhead persistent infrared systems", according to a press release by the Department of Defense officials.

To be sure, some satellite watchers have challenged Thompson's analysis and believe more research is needed to confirm that the Russian satellite was intentionally shadowing United States of America 245.

Going forward, he said, "I think there needs to be a discussion on norms of behavior and on responsible behavior in space".
