Broadway playwright Terrence McNally has died from coronavirus complications

One of his most memorable works was the play Next! in which a middle-aged man, played by James Coco, was mistakenly called for the draft.

It has been sadly reported that the playwright, Terrence McNally has died at the age of 81.

The four-time Tony Award victor was best known for his work: Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Master Class, Ragtime, Love!

McNally's publicist said in a statement sent to AFP that the esteemed artist was a lung cancer survivor who lived with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. I had the honor of working with Terrence in Ragtime.

During his travels with Steinbeck's family, he was able to draft the opening act of his work that became And Things Go Bump in the Night. In 1975, actress Rita Moreno won a Tony-award for her performance in his play The Ritz. The pair were joined in a civil union in 2003 in Vermont and married in 2010 in Washington, DC.
