DePaul alum Quigley falls to Zach Lavine in NBA Horse Competition

Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley rides out lockdown with HORSE challenge | NBA News

In the one-on-one HORSE competition format, one player describes the shot they are about to take and if they make it their rival must recreate the shot.

LaVine, on the other hand, relied on his athletic ability to win his semifinal against WNBA star Allie Quigley. The NBA, the National Basketball Players Association and ESPN worked together on a game of HORSE to help with the problem.

"As soon as they call your name to shoot a shot, I'm like, 'Oh my God, my turn, ' and like, 'What are people going to expect me to do?'" said Conley, the all-time leading scorer for the Memphis Grizzlies, where he played before being traded to the Jazz past year.

If the other player can not make the original shot, he/she receive a letter. From there, Conley and Lavine faced off in the Finals, with Conley taking the game easily.

A champion has just emerged from the ESPN's inaugural H-O-R-S-E Challenge: Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley.

Zach LaVine put away Paul Pierce in the quarterfinals with several entertaining plays that showcased his athleticism but stretched the limits of the HORSE rules.

Tom Hanks WWII Film 'Greyhound' to Premiere on Apple TV+
Worse yet, the original shows have not really been praised by critics and they have failed to garner viewers. Netflix added nearly 16 million customers in the first quarter of 2020 alone.

LaVine defeated Pierce and thee-time WNBA All-Star Quigley. Conley, throughout the tournament, had given his opponents trouble by using both his dominant right hand and his left hand.

LaVine performed the same shot against Conley, and the broadcast had a amusing moment. But, it was the insane trick shots Conley was hitting that LaVine could not match.

His final shot was a pass off the backboard, pass between the legs and layup.

Paul and Young were the favorite coming into the challenge but both lost in the first round. Conley was playing in his state-of-the-art home indoor court, complete with a hardwood flooring and branded painted walls, Catchings was in a concrete back yard.

Competing on an empty court, away from fans, competitors and the glamour of a professional arena, the two-night NBA HORSE challenge tournament, a single-elimination basketball shooting competition, is far from normal for Conley - but he'll take it.
