Premier League confirms six positive cases of COVID-19 after testing

Manchester United have pleaded with their fans to stay away from matches and watch on television

This is a big setback for the concerned clubs and the players since finally the teams have been given permission to resume training in small groups from Tuesday.

Six people from three clubs have tested positive for Covid-19 out of a total of 748 players and staff who were tested for the disease caused by the new coronavirus, the Premier League said today.

They say assistant manager Ian Woan tested positive having been swabbed on Sunday.

"The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency", it said in a statement Tuesday.

Premier League clubs are aiming for a return to action by the middle of next month, but face resistence from players concerns over their welfare.

Burnley said Woan was asymptomatic (not showing symptoms) and was now "safe and well at home".

Former United defender Gary Neville predicted that more players could reject a return to training.

Flynn Asks Appeals Court To Intervene As Judge Delays Dismissing Case
The request was filed after months of President Trump and his allies cheering Flynn on in his fight against the prosecutors. Lawyers for former national security adviser Michael Flynn filed a writ of mandamus petition to the U.S.

Now training is "socially distanced" so there is no direct player-to-player contact.

As for the training, while the first stage to get approval from the clubs, the second is contact training which is set to be put to clubs in a pair of meetings next week.

They are allowed to do sessions in groups of up to five, although contact is not yet permitted and strict social distancing rules must be adhered to.

Earlier this month, the Office of National Statistics found that "black people are more than four times more likely to die from Covid-19", according to The Guardian, research that concerns Hornets striker Deeney. "Nothing we can confirm yet, but we've got to make it work for everybody", he added.

"The health and wellbeing of all participants is the Premier League's priority, and the safe return to training is a step-by-step process". I would say 98pc are very much aware that phase one is very good.

"We have been assured of the intentions of all that there would be no resumption unless guarantees of safety could be given to the players", said PFA deputy chief executive Bobby Barnes.

We can not take medically take such a big gamble, we have to be safe.
