Premier League reveal results of fourth round of coronavirus tests

Premier League

Premier League clubs have unanimously voted to resume contact training as four more individuals from three sides have tested positive for coronavirus.

Clubs last week returned to training in small groups without contact and under strict health protocols.

Those two matches are set to be played first as they are the two remaining games in hand to be played in the league.

The report also outlines that Premier League chiefs want the season to be concluded by the weekend of August 1st and 2nd, with the FA Cup final taking place the following Saturday. Meanwhile, La Liga is also preparing itself to give a restart.

Following those two initial matches, the remaining 90 games will be played over just six weeks, with most games occurring on the weekends and two rounds of midweek games.

Premier League confirms four new positive Covid-19 cases

After Bundesliga, the Premier League will be the second league among the top-5 football leagues in Europe to resume the competition.

Norwich also have home league games against Everton, Brighton, West Ham and Burnley, with trips to Arsenal, Chelsea, Watford and Manchester City scheduled as well.

A win for the Blades would take them above Wolves and Manchester United and into fifth in the league, which could be a good enough finish to qualify for the Champions League next season. The league is believed to have chosen this date because they believe that they will be done with this season's matches by September since the players will be required to play on both weekends and week days so that they can be able to salvage some time for the summer transfer window to take place.

A lot could be on the line when Villa host Sheffield United.

"Previously, between 19-22 May, 996 players and club staff were tested for Covid-19, of which two tested positive from two clubs".
