Representative comments on Odion Ighalo situation amid Newcastle United speculation

Shanghai Shenhua Ready To Allow Ighalo Remain With Man United Until January

Shanghai Shenhua have softened their stance on extending Odion Ighalo's loan with Manchester United but time is against the Premier League side, sources have told ESPN.

The manager of the 30-year-old striker, Ladi Salami, has hinted that the Nigerian striker might end up remaining in the UK.

Solskjaer wants Ighalo available to see out the remainder of the Premier League season.

Despite United's interest in extending Ighalo's stay, Shanghai are reportedly keen for him to return to China for the start of their season.

Reports earlier this week claimed Shenhua would not entertain any offer of extending the loan and would only accept a permanent deal.

Ighalo's contract at Old Trafford comes to an end next week, but the latest words from his representative suggest his loan move could be extended.

"On the one hand, the Super Eagle feels very good in Manchester with which it is very close to a salary agreement."
Talks with the Chinese are ongoing and going well.

Wall Street opens mixed, falling tech shares weigh on Nasdaq
The moves followed a massive rally on Wall Street in the previous session with the Dow closing up more than 500 points. Treasury yields mostly edged lower, with the benchmark 10-year yield settling 2 bps lower to 0.68%.

"On the other hand, in view of the latest regulations in force in (China), it is nearly impossible to offer such amounts".

"The loan deal went until the end of May now, so obviously he's supposed to be going back", Solskjaer told MUTV on Tuesday.

"We're in dialogue and hopefully [he can stay]".

United might have to finish their Premier League season at neutral grounds as the authorities try to ensure player safety. At the moment, nothing has been agreed.

The Chinese Super League was set to get underway in February already, but due to the coronavirus outbreak across the world, will now start in June.

Manchester United are now placed fifth on the Premier League table, three points short of the top four.
